As many of you already know, Danny Amis has been undergoing treatment for multiple myeloma (cancer of the bone marrow). In order to help with his medical expenses, a series of benefit concerts were held during this past summer (2011). On June 29th, 2011, the Raybeats performed at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, New Jersey, at one of these benefit shows. Steve Almaas (of Beat Rodeo, the Crackers, and the Suicide Commandos) handled bass duties. Other acts scheduled for that evening were the Individuals, Ira Kaplan and Georgia Hubley (of Yo La Tengo), the Schramms, and Tall Lonesome Pines.
